ECPAT-USA's Response To The Arrest Of Ghislaine Maxwell

ECPAT-USA, the nation's leader in combating child exploitation and trafficking, today released the following statement on the arrest of Jeffrey Epstein's confidant, Ghislaine Maxwell.

"The arrest of Ms. Maxwell today on allegations that she was involved with Jeffrey Epstein's abuse of minors is an important step toward justice for the dozens of young girls who were lured into Epstein's web of crimes against children," said Lori L. Cohen, Executive Director of ECPAT-USA. "Since the death of Epstein last year, ECPAT-USA has called for the investigation into his alleged crimes to continue and for those who helped facilitate and participated in the exploitation to be held accountable. The co-conspirators in this case must not only include the people who recruited these girls, but also the 'business associates' who exploited them for sex. Without addressing the underlying demand, the exploitation of children will continue unabated."
