Supporting Our Partners In Eastern Europe
The effects of the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine will be long-term and devastating, and particularly harrowing for the most vulnerable populations in the area.
According to UNICEF, more than 1.5 million children have fled Ukraine as refugees since February 24 and untold numbers of children have been displaced inside the country. Neighboring countries, such as Poland, have welcomed more than 3 million Ukrainian refugees since the conflict began last February. These realities are triggering a massive crisis, and ECPAT members have been focusing on supporting children and their families to prevent exploitation.
As a member of the ECPAT International network, supporting our partners who are doing the on-ground work during this tragic and critical time is of the utmost importance:
All-Ukrainian Network Against CSEC (Ukraine)
Empowering Children Foundation (Poland)
Network of National Organisations Fighting against Child Prostitution & Trafficking (Moldova)
Hintalovon Child Rights Foundation (Hungary)
Making a donation to these organizations will help ensure that their child protection and refugee support programs dealing directly with the current emergency are able to continue. If you need further assistance, please contact kmachado@ecpatusa.org.
