ECPAT-USA’s Hotel Anti-Trafficking Training Approved By Texas Officials
The state of Texas has approved ECPAT-USA’s hotel e-learning as meeting its anti-trafficking training requirements. Under a partnership with the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) and Marriott International, Your Role In Preventing Human Trafficking is available on our website in 17 languages, at no charge.
Currently, Texas law requires hotel, motel, inn, or similar business operators with more than 10 rooms offering fee-based temporary lodging have each of their employees complete an annual human trafficking awareness and prevention training program. New employees must receive training within 90 days of being hired. The training must be approved by the Texas Office of the Attorney General.
A complete list of the laws and regulations that pertain to anti-trafficking training and signage in hotels from all 50 states is available in our report series, Unpacking Human Trafficking.
