Anti-Human Trafficking Group to Host Missing Children Outreach for Super Bowl

Trafficking survivor, activist and best-selling author Theresa Flores partners with the Junior League of Los Angeles and ECPAT-USA

Nationally known survivor of human trafficking, Theresa Flores, will partner with the Junior League of Los Angeles and ECPAT-USA on Sunday, February 6, to distribute posters with missing children to local hotels and motels around Los Angeles. Over 300 volunteers from Los Angeles and nationwide will gather at The Ebell of LA for the outreach in which Flores, the founder of S.O.A.P. (Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution), will share her harrowing story of being trafficked as a teenager and left for dead in a motel in Detroit Michigan. Volunteers will be trained on the signs of human trafficking and distribute over 25,000 bars of soap labeled with the National Human Trafficking Hotline number to over 500 hotels in one day.

The Demand for sex for sale will be at an all-time high during the Super Bowl. California is the #1 leading state for human trafficking and traffickers will be bringing in victims, many of them runaways and missing children, and selling them at hotels/motels to visitors.

S.O.A.P. has held national outreaches for the past 12 years at 10 Super Bowls, Detroit Auto Shows, NASCAR races, Kentucky Derby, and RNC’s to name a few. They have a proven track record of rescuing children and assisting local authorities in tips of human trafficking during high-demand events. Through the generous partnership with the Junior League, Bank of America, ECPAT and others, they have been able to continue Ms. Flores’ mission. S.O.A.P. has 19 chapters in 9 states and also provides programming for survivors’ healing journeys.
