Senior Education Associate

Luis Guaman earned his B.A. in Social Work with a minor in Spanish from the College of Staten Island. His main focus lies in empowering and educating both youth and adults. He has offered guidance on LGBTQ+ safe sex practices and boundary development for LGBTQ+ youths, along with providing training in academic, professional, and personal skill development for college students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. His passion is to empower communities through education, fostering advocacy for increased awareness and accessibility to essential resources, particularly addressing the long-standing challenges faced by marginalized populations in securing their fundamental human rights. 

Presently, Luis is pursuing his Master’s degree in Social Work at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, specializing in Community Organization, Planning, and Development. His post-graduate aspirations include working as an International Social Worker, aiming to volunteer for the Peace Corps to gain deeper cultural experiences in new environments, and to be committed to consistently uncover and embrace new avenues of growth in order to enable a meaningful contribution in his role as a social worker.

Simultaneously, Luis is embarking on a second career in the Culinary field. Having graduated as an Advanced Culinary Student from the School of Cooperative Technical Education, he aspires to become a Chef and eventually establish his own culinary business. Luis Guaman serves as a Senior Education Associate at PACT.
