Elisabeth Shuman

Elisabeth Shuman is the United Nations Representative for Childhood Education International (CE International), a global community of educators whose mission is to promote and support the optimal education, development and well-being of children worldwide. She has served in various leadership roles in the Civil Society community at the UN, including chairing and/or co-chairing committees. Currently, she serves on the Advisory Board of the NGO Committee on UNICEF, which works to uphold the rights of children everywhere. Elisabeth has taught in NYC private schools, provided educational counseling service to child-focused agencies, and managed SOS Children’s Villages International’s student program in North America for scholarship students from developing countries. A native of Austria, she attended the University of Innsbruck, but has lived in the United States most of her life.
