Honoring Saint Ignatius School

This year, as part of our Freedom Awards Benefit, we are proud to honor Saint Ignatius School (SIS) for their commitment to child protection and engagement in trafficking prevention education. Please take a moment to read about the school.

Saint Ignatius School (SIS) is a co-educational, Catholic Jesuit middle school in the South Bronx. It provides a rigorous Catholic education to low-income students of all faiths, focusing on spiritual, social, and academic growth. The school's educational philosophy is based on the Jesuit ideal of Cura Personalis, which emphasizes the care for the whole person, including social, physical, spiritual, and emotional development. SIS offers a small class size with a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:9, compared to 1:26 in the local public school, to ensure personal attention in the classroom. In addition to its rigorous academic program, Saint Ignatius School offers a comprehensive Graduate Support Program (GSP), which provides support and guidance to its students through high school and college, emphasizing the continued journey of each student beyond their time in middle school.
