ECPAT-USA's Hotel Anti-Trafficking Training Approved By Iowa Officials

The state of Iowa has approved ECPAT-USA’s hotel e-learning as meeting their state anti-trafficking training requirements. Under a partnership with the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) and Marriott International, Your Role In Preventing Human Trafficking is available on our website in 17 languages, at no charge.

Beginning on January 1, 2022, Iowa law requires that if a lodging provider is going to accept public funds, the provider must certify that all of its employees completed an approved human trafficking training. The Iowa Department of Public Safety has approved ECPAT-USA’s training, supplemented with an Iowa-specific video provided by the state.

A complete list of the laws and regulations that pertain to anti-trafficking training and signage in hotels from all 50 states is available in our report, Unpacking Human Trafficking. Updated periodically to reflect new legislation, Volume 4 of the report will be available in 2022.
