END Child Exploitation Act Statement

WASHINGTON, D.C. - ECPAT-USA, the nation's leader in combating child exploitation and trafficking, today announced its endorsement of the Eliminate Network Distribution of Child Exploitation Act (END Child Exploitation Act).

"We applaud Congressman Gonzalez and Congresswoman Ann McLane Kuster for recognizing the current 90-day preservation requirement is inadequate and is a serious impediment to investigators.  By extending this requirement to 180 days, law enforcement and prosecutors will have the necessary time to execute search warrants and prepare criminal cases against those who transmit child exploitation materials," said Lori Cohen, Executive Director of ECPAT-USA.  "We look forward to working with Representatives Gonzalez and Kuster, as well as their Senate counterparts, on the successful enactment of this important legislation."

A copy of H.R. 5376, the END Child Exploitation Act, can be found here.   ECPAT-USA urges everyone to contact their representatives and urge them to support this important legislation.
