ACTE Continues to Highlight ECPAT’s Work
As an ECPAT-USA partner, ACTE has spread awareness of the role travel associates play in combating human trafficking and child exploitation since joining the Tourism Child-Protection Code of Conduct (The Code) in 2013.
The Code is a set of six guidelines travel companies implement to help them put in place policies and procedures to fight child exploitation. As a trade association that creates meaningful dialogue through education, advocacy, and research for the global corporate travel community, ACTE’s main goal is to raise awareness and educate members about how they can partner with ECPAT to protect children.
This April, ACTE Global spread their message a bit further by partnering with American Express Global Business Travel to raise awareness through a survey in their Modern Business Traveller series. For each survey participant, ACTE Global donated $2 to ECPAT-USA, with American Express Global Business Travel matching the donation for a total of $800.
“ACTE believes in the importance of creating awareness of ECPAT and their efforts to end the commercial sexual exploitation of children, said Greeley Koch, Executive Director of ACTE. “We strive to create awareness through our events and by organizing charitable donations for the completion of industry surveys. No step is too large or too small for working together to create a meaningful impact and shed light on this important issue.”
ECPAT-USA’s Director of Private Sector Engagement, Michelle Guelbart, will join corporate travel expert, Jennifer Keltner and Carinne Saulet, VP of Brand and Global Marketing for Carlson Wagonlit Travel at ACTE’s 2018 New York City Global Summit & Corporate Lodging Forum on May 1st for an education session for ACTE members.
ECPAT-USA thanks ACTE and American Express Global Business Travel for their support in creating a world where no child is bought, sold, or used for sex.
