Private Sector, NGO Community, and Government Come Together to Celebrate ECPAT-USA's 25th Year Fighting for Freedom

On Wednesday, November 16th, 2016 ECPAT-USA celebrated its 25th Anniversary of fighting for freedom. The soireé was held at the elegant Pace Gallery in New York City and was filled with over 200 generous friends of ECPAT-USA who support a world where no child is bought, sold, or used for sex. Thank you to everyone who donated to our evening - we well surpassed our fundraising goal!

We were elated to honor Marilyn Carlson Nelson, Former Chairman and CEO of Carlson, for her outstanding commitment to responsible business.

“By honoring me as the first business leader to be recognized by the organization, you have affirmed what I have always felt to be true - that business is a powerful force for good” said Marilyn during her remarks. “I am so very proud that after several robust conversations and a deeper understanding of the issue, everyone on my executive team agreed that we must sign the Code.  We were uniquely positioned to impact this issue and it was our responsibility to act.” Carlson was one of the first companies to sign The Code in 2004.

The soireé was a great time to reflect on how far ECPAT-USA has come in the past 25 years with advancing the issue of child sexual exploitation and trafficking. It was truly a time of celebration with delicious wine, hors d'oeuvres, and great company. We felt so supported and encouraged by the turnout including representatives from the private sector, NGOs, and diplomats.
